Silversmith Sterling Silver Over Pipe Horse-racing 1940
Excellent condition on this vintage Silversmith estate pipe. Simple in design yet highly detailed, the silver is cut and shaped in a silhouette of two riders in a horserace. They are racing around a track, and the silver even has been made to look like dust clouds by the horses' hoofs. Lovely linear design, encompassing part of the stem. Marked "Silversmith Sterling" on the underside, the pipe has no damage at all. There is a tiny dent in the silver on the bottom of the pipe. It has been used and we have no background info on it, as it was puchased from an estate. The pipe measures 5 1/2 inches long x 1 1/2 inches tall on the bowl and 1 1/4 inches across the bowl.
